The inspiration for the song "The Azalea Flowers" was primarily derived from the literary work "The Glistening Red Star." At a music group meeting, the composer Fu Gengchen was moved by a segment of lyrics in the script: "At midnight, we yearn for the dawn; in the cold winter, we yearn for the spring breeze; if we can期待 the return of our loved ones, the mountains will be covered with azalea blossoms." This segment of lyrics deeply impressed him, sparking his creative灵感. As a result, Fu Gengchen decided to abandon his original work and instead create this new song to express the longing for loved ones and the desire for a better future.

It is worth mentioning that the lyrics of "The Azalea Flowers" were written by Lu Zhuguo, while the composition was created by Fu Gengchen. Their collaboration gave this song a distinctive folk music style of Jiangxi, with a smooth melody and easily understood lyrics that convey a profound meaning.
